Found a few more on other forums. Hell yeah he is proud of it, how often do you see one? Only one I ever seen was in my Small Arms Of the World.

I was very lucky and a few years ago got around 300 rounds of 1917/1918 dated WWI issue .455 self-loading ammo shown in previous post. You'll notice the red stamped "Not for Revolvers" on the 7-round packet .455 Webley Self-loading ammo pack. I've shot a few magazines in my WWI British Contract .455 Webley Colt Government pistols and except for one so far all went bang. I don't think any commercial .455 Webley Auto ammo is produced; Fiocchi periodically makes the .455 Webley ammo for the Webley-Scott revolvers. Also got some reloaded/reformed .455 auto ammo which doesn't perform as well as the WWI ammo.

I've shot the WWI auto ammo in my British Government Contract 1917 .455 Eley Colt Government Model Pistol No. W 92124 which was 1 of 300 shipped to the London Armoury Company on March 30, 1917. Photos show British Military Crossed Pennants and Broad Arrow property and proof marks. Here are photos of the .455 Eley magazine for this pistol. Here are two British contract .455 Webley auto barrels for this pistol. You can see the groove cut into the barrel below the hood to accept the .455 Eley auto cartridge. Such barrels are often marked with a "W" on the bottom of the barrel as shown in the photos (or sometimes an "E") or with British military inspection and property marks such as the crossed pennants and Crown/E etc on the barrel links.
