    That way they can just drop it in your yard from 20 ft up, rather than toss it out the truck as they drive by.

    I kid. My UPS guys are pretty good.

    I think its a cool idea, but does this mean if you're not home then your package will just be waiting in your driveway for any critter or bypasser to do with as they please?

    Yes, pretty much just the way they are left now by the driver. Sometimes they hid it, sometimes they don't. Sometimes they leave a sticker telling you (and the critters) where to look for the package, sometimes you happen to see it a day or two later.

    Almost all my deliveries require an adult signature........

    ain't no way I want to get close enough to those blades to sign..........

    Looks like the drone left it either in the implement yard or in the field among the row crops. Neither of which is helpful.
