Unfortunate Names

Reading the news today I see the name David Pecker. Now I know his parents did not choose his surname, but you know he caught hell growing up with that name!

It made me think of given names where parents SHOULD have known better!

The ones I have personally encountered:

Brock Lee

Richard Long (my uncle Dick)

Leslie and Harold Peters ( twins in college who went by Les and Harry)

Dick Trickle (of racing fame)

Peace Esheit (saw it on the news)

A boy on the news today had the last name Trump. He was getting bullied in school so his parents had his last name changed. If he were allowed to fight back (like we did in the old days) these things would never happen.

I worked with a guy, his last name was Head. He thought it was hilarious to name his son Richard

On a similar note, a local high school gained mention when Seniors took their yearbook photo. One Senior recorded a gag name on the card collected by the photographer.

His photo actually made it to the yearbook with the gag name, Tess Tickle, listed underneath.
