I realize its possible that someone reading this may not know what a flash cartridge is so I will cover a little history about what they are and how they came about.

When cartridge games first came out it was not long before someone was seeking a way to illegally copy them and of course methods were found to do that. It became possible to extract the game data out of the cartridge so it can be copied into a bootleg cartridge to be sold but to do this required a lot of customized and specialized unique hardware that was not available to any average person. Eventually developers found a way to produce hardware that was easy to make and use which allowed loading game data so it can be read on a real console and when that happened the flash cartridge was born. Many generations of flash cartridges have been developed over the years and now we have ones that can load and play just about 99% of all games that were released for the NES and SNES. Using a flash cart also allows you to play games that were released in different areas of the world and also indie/home-brew games.

The EverDrive-N8 is a flash cartridge for the NES. It uses a full size SD memory card which you can load NES games on. NES game data is very small for each game so you can load every US released game as it would be less than 200MB worth of data (roughly 700 games total). Game compatibility of the EverDrive-N8 is high and load times are fast.

The SD2SNES is a flash cartridge for the SNES. It uses a micro SD memory card which you can load SNES games on. SNES games are significantly larger than NES games so to load every US released game it would be about 1GB worth of data (roughly 700 games total). Game compatibility of the SD2SNES is very high and load times are very fast.

I now have the following console hardware combinations.

The retroUSB AVS console + EverDrive-N8 flash cartridge.
The Super Nt console + SD2SNES flash cartridge.

Here are their PROS and CONS:

PROS: Near perfect (99%) console and game accuracy performance along with enhanced video and audio output as well as additional features/options that are not available on the original NES & SNES consoles.

    CONS: Cost.

It takes a significant amount of money to invest in all this hardware but if you do you will have the finest NES & SNES experience ever.
