    If this is a serious concern, we should sell our gold in NY and use the money to buy physical gold to be stored in TX. Let someone else own worthless paper.

    In that article that actually is an idea being tossed around to alleviate the complexity of transporting the gold from NY to TX.

    Otherwise they'd need an incredible security and transport team to make the long journey. For some reason I keep thinking about Die Hard: With a Vengeance

    If I remember correctly some country in the past was "denied" access to their gold due to causing imbalance in economy. Should'nt we be fighting tooth and nail for it ?

    Agreed... However we should sell it and use the money to fund tax breaks for manufacturing operations that move or start up in TX. Probably not a popular idea, but if something terrible like a new civil war does happen, we don't want to repeat the same mistakes as last time. We need more manufacturing in the state.
