Actually, I thought the name was pretty cool; but I wasn't expecting an AR.

As for being just another Stoner design in a sea of Stoner designs, I can't fault Springfield for joining the fray. I would have liked something more interesting, like it being in 7.62x39 or even 9mm; but ARs rule the American market (deserving or not) and you can't bash SA for wanting a piece of that very large pie!

That said, would I buy one? Doubtful, unless it is considerably lower than the MSRP; but that decision would be based more on the cost than anything else. Plus, I am more interested in something a bit more "exotic," such as Kalashnikov USA's KR-9...
