Remington Model 700 serial number

Any vintage Remington experts on here? I have a Model 700 in 7mm Mag that has a 5 digit serial
Number. Most of my googling suggests the number should start with a letter and mine doesn’t. I found one thing online that suggested a five digit SN indicates a 1963 build but it didn’t go into any detail. Any thoughts?

Hard to see, but date code of RY translates to November 1974. Date code is not in serial number, but the letter code on the left side of the barrel.
