Rant: Cancelling events due to weather

It's Texas. Weather changes. I get it. But when you say you'll post an update at 6am for a 9am event regarding weather cancelations, I check at 630 and nothing is posted and then pack up, drive an hour and a half to get to the event and find out you sent a cancellation at 645 because there's an increased CHANCE of bad weather in the forecast?

Agreed! My son was supposed to have little league all-star tryouts today at 4:30pm. It was raining but they didn't cancel so we went to the field and it was deserted. got back home and got an e-mail saying it was cancelled at 5:30pm! (Strange thing though is that the sender's timestamp showed 3:31pm so maybe it was just comcast messing with us!)

To be fair as a follow up - they did get some weather about two hours later.
