Question regarding DPS online LTC application

The GC never says you "need 6 months". The GC says Texas will issue a LTC to a resident of 6 months OR a resident of another state, OR someone living in TX fewer than 6 months with the intention to stay here. So, pretty much anybody.

Thanks for clearing that up. I did sign a year lease.

I would get a TXDL as soon as possible. That tends to indicate residency. Supposed to do it in the first 30 days anyway.

I have my TX DL, and I believe you hsve 90 days to do once moving here.

I moved here and went down to get my Texas License on the last day. They were closed for Confederate Day Holiday. A Police Officer stopped me and I got a ticket for failing to get a Texas Drivers License. At least the judge split the fine with me because they were closed.
