    pronstar,

    Good point.

    I screen all calls.

How can the oil changers screw up?

I discovered a few years back, after an oil change and before the change, I'd marked my filter - it hadn't been removed.....

    Surprise Mr. Oil Changer.

    I called the manager.

I pointed out the particulars and said if the filter had'nt been changed, how do I know what oil (I'd paid for premium stuff) I got?

I suggested I witness a new oil change and filter.

    He agreed. (with chagrin...)

I, of course, never went back - freaking crooks.....

In general, the auto industry is not without a bad reputation in general....for good reason.

Dealerships are horrible. After I got my truck I just put everything from them in spam.

My favorite was mail sent to me. “Save” on your next oil change. Read the fine print “not for diesels” ahah you guys sold me a diesel! Nice. I’m on my last free oil change and look forward to changing my own again. I hate other people changing my oil or fuel filters. I’m a torque spec nazi.

After my first change I popped the hood and checked my oil to see if it was new. Easy to tell with a diesel. Lol

Believe it or not an oil CAN be done wrong.
    Its happened to me.
True. I had an oil change done at Walmart quite some time ago and they put the wrong filter on. The truck used a "fat" filter (only way I can describe it) and they put a "skinny" one on. Naturally it leaked oil and I took it back and they put the proper filter on and they had the nerve to try and charge me for the oil they had to put in.

My Mom had an oil change done at Jiffy Lube or similar place and they put the oil plug in wrong and stripped the threads on the oil pan.

Way back in the day, I made the mistake of going to jiffy lube.

They added oil to my washer fluid tank.
    That wasn’t easily rectified...

    Ha!
They didn’t actually fill the tank...somehow they added a little oil, the. I guess they realized what they had done.

I didn’t notice until I used my washers the next day.
