Howdy and welcome. Many transplants get a “leave your politics at the door” but I reckon your’s will be fine considering a map shows Oklahoma as completely red. The advice that be offered by some is leave the 2.3 at the border.

Good luck on the ocean stuff and I look forward to living vicariously through you in that endeavor.
If any issue is taken with my politics it'll be the younger crowd thinkin I'm too hard-assed about taking this liberty thing seriously.

Took the crew to eat the first night we arrived in TX from FL. Ran across this. Thought we must have taken a wrong turn and wound up in New Jersey.

    Welcome.
I have some friends that have sailboats like that at the local lake. They would be jealous.

No such thing as taking liberty too seriously.

Good looking boat too. You mentioned crew. You hire a crew to make a trip across the gulf? How many guys does it take?

    Howdy,

Recent immigrant to Texas, born and raised and still have ties in NE Oklahoma. After retirement (LEO), I purchased and rebuilt a sailboat in FL, then sailed it to Kemah. I still have 3 children at home so we've spent the last few months (and the next few months) training to take her across an ocean. Glad to be here among kindred spirits.

So you just moved to Texas to have access to the GULF of MEXICO?????

    Welcome

Guilty, but I've always had a soft spot for y'all. I guess I can trace my heritage to TX though. My grandpa crossed the Red River into Oklahoma as a boy in a covered wagon.

Yeah, it takes 3 if you want to get any sleep. I hired 2 plus me. 4 or 5 would be better. 1001 miles in 5 days.
