Yep, a friend of a friend back in Virginia dropped out of his stand on a doe. He said all four hooves beat him from head to toe.
I lack the tally of some of yall, but of the couple of dozen deer I've killed, only one has been with a firearm.

Unless most/all of the rest were bow hunting, we are gonna need some details.

Not bragging, but I took one out with a 2010 Kia Forte.

    I've done fairly well............with.............

    Crown Vics! :roflfunny:
Despite riding and driving in Texas, at night, a lot, I have yet to strike a deer. I've hit plenty other things, possums, dogs, coyotes, raccoons, birds, squirrels, snakes. No cats, cows, pigs or deer (yet).

I have endeavored to use my knife (Boker Applegate in all but one case) to dispatch any deer that must be put down. Quieter, just as fast as shooting, but no paperwork and IMO less risk than popping rounds in the city.

You're LEO I'm assuming. I had an injured deer make it into my backyard some years ago it was down right outside my bedroom window badly injured. Local PD had been called by the driver that hit it. I was fast asleep in my bed when the officer used his shotgun to finish it off right outside my window. That woke me up in a hurry, would have appreciated a heads up. Wish he would have had the forethought you did.

When I lived in the country many deer were hit crossing the road. One time a deer was injured, sheriff was called. I was in my yard when I heard about 5 shots, he was a bad shot. I should have done it myself.
