First impression without holding one; seems like a good choice for those that wouldn’t pocket carry the original 365 and would rather use a belt holster. I’m intrigued.
    I agree on both counts.

I hope so. I never signed up to be a beta tester.
So you bought an original P365 model without knowing if the introductory problems had been solved or not??

I definitely want a p365, but I'm a bit torn about the 365 or the xl. I think I need to handle an XL to decide

I wonder what the size diff is between a 320 Compact and 365 XL

The P365 is narrower than the P320, and slightly lighter. The magazines are quite a bit narrower as well. The new P320XL is very close to the same height and length of the P320 Subcompact. The P320 is designed to work around the trigger group, while the P365 is all integral. The P365XL is slightly longer and has a longer grip than the P365, so it has a 12-round flush magazine instead of the 10-round flush mag on the P365. The 15 round extended fits both 365s.

As to which one is better for CCW, I suspect it will boil down to which one fits your hand better. I have a 365 and several 320s, and I have nothing but good things to say about them. For plinking targets, the 320 is my choice, as the magazines are a lot easier to load. The P365 magazines push the limits of how tightly you can pack in rounds, and because of that the mags are tough to load.

I would guess the 365XL does not exhibit the striker drag on the primer like the standard 365 does due to longer slide travel. It does run right up against the P320 compact though in specs, but in the real world a tenth of an inch or two and a few ounces can make a big difference in carry comfort. I am intrigued by the new P320 X Compact. That is a sweet looking pistol.

I have a regular P320 Compact, but I am interested in both the new 365XL and the new P320X Compact. I may have some changes in my future.

I have a 320C and a 365, and the difference in size is huge. At least it feels that way to me.
I carry the 365 IWB with the 12 round magazine when wearing shorts, or with the 10 round in my front pocket. A 15 round spare mag gives you a lot of firepower in a small package.
I just changed the 320c to the Xcarry frame and a flat trigger, and like it a lot better.
I may take a hard look at the 365xl, but will certainly hang on to this one as it works perfectly for pocket carry.
BTW, mine is from early last year, and I have had zero issues with it.
