And small bore silhouette if I can find a match close by.
I finally found a CZ 457 in .22lr. I put my Hawke 4.5x14 Sidewinder on it. But I can't really say I like the scope. It was on my Ruger SR-762 and I didn't care for it there either. It will do for now though.
One thing I don't like about the scope on the CZ is that I can't get it far enough forward. I'll have to sort that issue out. In the meantime I'll be researching a better scope.
The fit and finish of the rifle is excellent. It is a solid rifle and handles nicely. Right out of the box the trigger does well for me.
I did a bit of sight-in today and was fairly pleased with the results. The rifle is capable of better groups with a more competent person at the trigger. I will say that it seems to be fairly sensitive to a cold barrel. That could also be me though. I was shooting Browning high velocity ammunition. I picked up several different boxes of Eley to experiment with, but used the Browning to do the preliminary sight-in and get used to the trigger.
I enjoyed shooting my 10/22 in my first match last month but I wanted something a bit more competitive. We'll see if it works for me.

CZ is hard to beat, I’ve run a few stages with a borrowed 455 Precision Trainer and I liked the platform. Not sure if the Yo Dave trigger kit fits the 457, but it’s worth looking into!

I really like my bolt action rifles. That's a beautiful rifle and for the price I may have to get one.

    Ben~
Lubbock has a club. They shoot at the 41 Lead Farm on Sundays. Amarillo has a club also apparently, and a nice range too I hear. I haven't shot there yet, but from the course of fire description for yesterday's match they stretch out to about three hundred yards. I would've like to have been there to see the .22s pointing skyward to find those targets. LOL

    All good to hear. Thanks.

The pistol silhouette guys have been shooting .22lr pistols at 200 meters for a long, long time. It's doable.
