I can amend my list and eliminate either the 30-30 or the 7.62X39 and add a .357 mag pistol.

What are the must-have calibers these days to keep you covered without tons of overlap? I have friends that would tell me I need a gun in every caliber "just incase". I have friends that would tell me a 22LR will do every job. I obviously fall in between. My calibers that include multiple ways to project them include 9MM, 22LR, 223/556 and 12G. I still feel like I want 45 sometimes but 9MM is fine. I don't hunt regularly but a 270 seems to do the job for me. I can see 308 replacing 270 though. The 6.5 CM looks like it might stick around a while and that will probably be my rifle choice when/if I make it. What about you guys?

SHF - .22 for rabbit, squirrel. Big meats .308. .223 carbine for human vermin. EDC Glock 27 .40. Suppressors for each....

.204 Ruger for varmints a long ways off
30-06 for deer a far piece away
45-70 Gov't for any thing bigger that's a little closer
    That covers it.

.22 just because it's cheap and if SHTF, good for hunting small game.
9mm because my carry gun and most of my guns are 9mm
.45ACP because everyone needs at least one 1911.
.223 and 5.56 because a gun collection isn't complete without an AR.

    32 acp, 380 acp, 9x18, 9mm, 7.62 x 25, 40 S & W, 45 acp, 7.62 X 39, 5.56 and a 12 gauge. I started out trying to minimize the number of calibers. That did not last long.
