Alright let me rephrase that original post.

If you or someone you know is looking to fill a position in the Houston area in the accounting/finance area. Please let me know.

    Sorry Vaq.

    I am already on LinkedIn

No different than putting yourself on LinkedIn. Which I suggest OP do, if not already there.

Except that if his resume is posted here, then it may show up during a HR Manager’s google search.

It’s probably not a good idea to let potentially anti-gun employers know that one spends time on gun forums.

Speaking of job searches and anti gun employers, it’d be nice if we had a list of employers gun policies.

If/when I have to look for another job, I will probably ask to see their employer handbook before agreeing to work there.

My current employer is very gun friendly.

Alright guys. I’m reaching out because I need some help.
    Deleted link. Vaquero

That link is to my resume on Dropbox. If you know anyone who owns, works, or manages a company in Houston in the finance or related industry please pass this along if you feel inclined to do so.

I know my info is in there but I trust y’all

    Are you tied to Houston?

    Finance/accounting is pretty diverse.

PM your resume or the link or your LinkedIn link.

    BillFB,

I was kidding, but few employers in this litigious age demonstrate pro-gun attitudes, even if they quietly agree guns are good, but can't say so, at least out loud......

Yeah. I wouldn’t publicly promote that my company is.

However, I will say that my former employer, Conner Industries is not gun friendly. Before they started slashing commissions and taking accounts from reps, they forced everyone to sign a new policy agreeing not to bring guns to work or even leave them in the car.

I ate at The Original Shack burger joint in Cypress recently. They have a big sign up saying they support the 2A and feel free to carry your's while here.

When I get down there again I'll stop in just because of that sign.

Fly by Night Steakhouse in Cleburne is gun friendly, and they serve fantastic steaks.

As a Department Manager, I have interviewed many people. I go into an interview knowing that the person is already qualified (if you are not, I am not wasting my time). The interview is to find out if the person is a good fit for the company AND if the company is a good fit for the person. If it is not a good fit, then the relationship will not last (you will either quit or get fired).

Therefore, ask questions that are relative to you.

Some questions that tell me if you are really interested in the company are:

Why do you (the interviewer) like working for the company?

What is the average tenure for employees?

What was the reason that the last 2 or 3 employees left? - this question is better for smaller companies.

    Good luck.

My wife works in IT, and she tells me about oddball interview questions like “how do you make a PB&J sandwich?”

She says that’s a common interview question?
