    If I had $52,000 burning a hole in my pocket, I sure as hell wouldn't waste it on something like that.
    As a native Texan I find this whole pistol theme offensive.

    I agree with the OP, love me a stock Glock. Aside from an optics cut, there's just no good reason to butcher a slide. Now there are legitimate reasons for wanting to add more grip texture, but a lot of the texturing done these days is purely for aesthetics and isn't adding much in the grip dept.

    Find yourself a Springfield Armory Trophy Match 1911. The texture on the front of the frame is crazy. It is 20 lines per inch and very sharp. The sharpness will make your hand sore until you get used to it. I toned mine down with a little sanding on the tips. 25 to 30 lines per inch is much better.
