So, the links on the new chain are longer?

How can going to a larger rear sprocket mean going to fewer links in the chain?

Nevermind.... you didn't shortin the wheel base. Its back normal

The 120 is a hair longer then the 118. The factory stretch gauge no longer applies. To remove a single link from the 120. I would have removed 2 pins.

They measure links funky. Each pin counts as a link. But to shorten it to where the master link can connect to end loops on the chain. I'd have to remove two pins from the new chain. According to the world of motorcycles. That's two links. It'd be cut back down to 118.

Took a quick test drive. Ill go back through and double check the chain alignment and slack.

Factory says 1"-1 3/16" of slack. I tightened it down on a short inch.

    ....

If you're going up three teeth on the rear. The factory chain length won't work.

    3T jump? Torque time.

As I understand it. The CBR650F has a 16/42 setup. The CB650f has a 15/42. To make it a better commuter. Honda went down one 1 on the front with the CB.

So instead of having to do a -1/+3. I can get away with a 0/+3 for a ratio of 3:00. I'm not messing with the drive sprocket until it wears out. 30,000miles(?)...

The factory chain is suppose to be junky. Reported 10k-15k life span. It's a DID brand chain. You can't buy it unless you buy it straight from Honda.

I never changed the front sprocket on my ZX9R, sold it with 56k miles on it.
1 less in front = 3 more in back.

    ETA: No OOC, lol.

The speed junkies will go up 1 on the front. From a 16 to a 17. Sucky low end but a screaming high end. It'll add about 20-30 more miles per hour over the factory top speed.

That's sounds ridiculous, just my .02.

I had absolutely no need to go faster than any of my liter bikes could go, after other mods, of course.
