    I just watched it... My goodness...powerful movie. Done right.
    Vet or not,,, if you can watch it without getting tore up a little, you’re not an American....

    If found it on Prime Video. I had heard about it, but never sat down to watch till tonight....

    I watched the trailer on that some time ago and wouldn't you know there was onions being cut at the same time. I was afraid to watch it knowing there would be more onions to come.

    Damn onions! Good movie!

    The movie was based on LTCOL Michael Strobl's (actual escort) journal and he also co wrote the script for the movie.

    I have to wonder, given the political climate of today, if Hollywood would give that movie the dignity it deserves, but it was well done in 2009.

    I've watched "Taking Chance" several times since the original broadcast. Lumps in throat, eyes running, it's a perfect cast. Kevin Bacon does a Marine uniform proud

    Didn't know about this movie until this thread. Watched this the other night. Brought back memories from my father's funeral. Not the same situation. My dad was 90 when he passed. Marine Master Sargent. WWII Korea and Vietnam vet. I was fine the entire day until the honor guard Sargent presented me the flag and said "On behalf of a grateful nation...." Damn onions
