looks really good
What a difference some nitre blued pins and screws and some walnut grips make.
Wtf!? You need to align those slots. What a difference some nitre blued pins and screws and some walnut grips make.
You didn't take the time to line them up, then label them left, right, top, bottom like Yost.Yost & Burton are my grail guns. Aligned screws are something I’d expect on a 5 digit 1911 lol. Sometimes I take my time to try and line them up, but this time around I just followed Challis’ advice and torqued the screws to 5 in lbs and called it a day.

Shit, I wish. I admire his work. Just can't bring myself to pay the entry fee. There are a few gunsmiths that I admire. Just can't bring myself to pay 5-15k to possess one. And I can't get on his list because his books are closed. First world problems. He does a lot more to align them than I have the capabilities of doing
Is that Yost gun yours?

I have a friend who got a swenson gun for 700 bucks because the previous owners didn't know what they had.We share the same problems. I’m looking into Novak’s custom colt’s they sell on their website for a future purchase, or perhaps go used with a Clark’s custom long slide. The Clark’s long slides are surprisingly cheap for the provenance they have. Not a fan of the heavy sight rib’s they have though.
A Swenson built gun would be awesome too. Two recently sold on GB to the same guy for I think $10K each.
