Criminal Jurisprudence
HB 1445 - Amends the current prohibition of licenseholders carrying handguns while intoxicated. Expands it to include long guns, limits it to only guns carried in public places, and states that it does not apply to law enforcement or special investigators even while they are off duty. If the intent was public safety, the best course of action would be to repeal 46.035 (d), removing the prohibition on regular gun carry by non-intoxicated people in 51% places.
