I'm looking to convert my Krinkov into a SBR but I need a gunsmith for this particular project. Any recommendations for a good gunsmith in El Paso?

Chuy from the NE does great work for me.
Depending on the work you want done, such as drilling new holes for a stock etc., he should be able to do it.

Have you looked into a pistol brace? No need for the $200 stamp and waiting game and no permanent modifications are needed. I did that to my Draco, and it works great... for me.

I have looked at a brace but I just don't like the look.
Is Chuy reasonable with his prices?

Yea, his place looks a bit run down but it does the job.
His prices are fair, and his turn around time for the work is also acceptable.
He is an older guy, and won't BS you when it comes to the job.

I am looking for a gunsmith in the El Paso area that can take my California compliant AR15 and bring it back to the free world. Thanks for any suggestions.

Alnwk, how is your AR compliant? Maglocked or featurless? I moved all kinds of semi-autos here from SF, CA. It didn’t take much to un-“californicate” them.

My maglocked ones were even simpler.

Thanks for your reply. My AR is maglocked with a Juggernaught Hellfighter.
Do you have a shop? Also if I will need to purchase any parts that require a background check I do not have my Texas DL yet. If it will help I can send photos. If so just give me your email and I will send them. Thanks

It only needs parts if you want it to look different. The mag lock can be disabled very easily (in under a minute, even).

I messaged you, but haven’t heard anything back. I don’t have a shop. Just a guy who moved here and fixed my AR, VZ and AK myself.

When I moved to Houston from the bay Area, all my previous AR's never changed when we arrived and they are still in my safe not touched since the move. I bought new and better brands without all those compliant craps.
