I have a couple of vintage Uber-quality air rifles with disintegrated seals that I really should not relegate to the obsolete pile.

    I have a Feinwerkbau model 300 rifle.

And I have a Feinwerkbau Model 65 pistol

    They are both languishing.

Visibly the seal around the pellet breech on both have disintegrated to particulate detritus.

Seal-kits are, admittedly, available on line but I'm thinking that disassembly of the master spring being the pistons is a job left to the expert craftsmen with the correct tools.

These fine pieces are neglected and deteriorating.
Both are capable of bring a smile to many fine shooters, young and old.

Do any of you have experience in getting fine German spring powered air guns brought back to proper quality functioning?

    Thanks

Man, I have a German made Beeman RX I need to get fixed as well, but I have been putting it off for years. Hopefully this thread kicks me in the ass to get it done.

I bought a used Feinwerkbau 124D with a Beeman Blue Ribbon Scope a few years ago. The seal was 'crumbled'!!!

I used IRWIN bar clamps in a vise to disassemble/reassemble the spring assembly.
    It's not hard, definitely 'doable'.

I also applied the damping 'tar' to the spring before assembly.

I almost bought a Feinwerkbau model 300 but it was more than I wanted to spend at the time!!!

You have good taste in air rifles!!!
