I had my Spark out and a friend who I had never flown with had his Phantom 4

We decided to compare what our elevation readings were if there were visually close AGL

I was hovering my drone stable and letting him adjust
He got too close and I told him to back up but he went forward instead and missed me by inches!

    Jeeze.

He had to have known he was facing you?

Sounds like one of them that’s never learned to really fly a drone. Just nudges it around and hopes the software never faulters.

I could be way off too. Just basing off one scenario but I don’t know how you make that mistake when you can glance at a screen and know exactly which way your facing.

If he was flying in headless mode it may have been the cause. Or confused.

vmax, how are you liking your spark? One of the guys I fly with has one and I was surprised at how well it fly’s and the quality of the video. A lot of bang for the buck.

An Inspire 2 is on the radar, just waiting for the right deal.

Is flying the Spark fairly complicated?

    Not at all.

If you want an inexpensive quad thats easy to learn on but capable of some crazy aerobatics and that can take a lot of abuse you should consider a Traxxas Aton. I’ve beat the crap out of mine and it’s still flying.

It was his visual orientation I think
I calmly ask him to back up and he pushed the stick and came to me not away.

I have a Spark and a Mavic Air

The spark is compact and shoots in 1080
About 10 minutes on one battery
It just cant handle as much wind as my Mavic or a larger drone
But I love my Spark and take it almost everywhere

I saw a Spark on sale at the local Target for $299. I could kick myself for not getting it.

Modded the Aton transmitter for extended range using components from an old Linksys 2.4 gig router. The range is significantly improved. I’ve had to rebuild it a few times and replaced the lenses, the green is much more visible at night and seriously trippy to the uninitiated.
