My Dad brought this back from Germany when WW II ended. He never used it, just kept in a drawer with a few other war souvenirs. I've had it for the last 43 years but don't know anything about its history, background, or usage.
Wondering if anyone here has seen one like it or knows anything about it, please chime in. What it might have been used for etc. I'm pretty sure it was German military issue, but not positive. No Nazi markings on it.

It is an OTF gravity knife. The 4 inch blade is engraved with a king sitting on a throne, holding a sword. Under the king are letters SMF Solingen Rostfrie
And the large spike that folds in to the handle.
