If the cyl is marked 22 mag it will fire but might be tight to extract the case, mag cyl is a few(1 or 2 thos) larger than 22 long rifle and the case will bulge slightly.
Be sure the timing and lockup on the cyl is good and tight, that 22 short has to travel a ways to get to the barrel!
Unless you have two cylinders that revolver is designed for 22 WMR (22 Mag) only.
22 lr, long, and short will be very loose in the cylinder.
Will they work? Probably but you may have accuracy issues and split all the cases. You may also get shards of lead coming out of the cylinder gap which could injure you.
Most revolvers have two different cylinders for 22s, one for Mag/ WMR and one for lr, long, and short.
