When these folks put their money where their mouth is we can talk. I'm especially talking about people who's family actually owned slaves like Kamala Harris. Not too many generations ago her folks ran a plantation and owned slaves in the Caribbean.
The problem is you will never see a penny from them actually living their positions on the issue.
Since the left is so quick to point out the examples of other countries I would like to refer your attention to south Africa. It's what wealth redistribution, in this case reparations, looks like in action.

The Dems are the ones that are so guilty of slave ownership. They should pay, they would feel so much better.
I personally feel no guilt for that which I never did.

One part of my family came from Switzerland in the 1890s. The other part is mostly Cherokee. There's some Irish in there somewhere, but we all know how they were treated back then. In what way could I possibly be responsible for slavery? Furthermore, how can someone be held accountable for the actions of someone else who was alive over a century and a half ago? They had no part in that person's decisions.

Of course I'm being sarcastic. No one is white or black anymore. There are Black people doing DNA testing and finding out they are mostly white. You've hit on exactly why we're hearing more and more of this. Same thing with all the kneeling bullshit....not about police brutality or any other issue, but about communism/marxism.
