    Did you check at Wal-Mart?? - The last time that I looked for #4 Buck in SA, the store on Austin Hwy had over 40 five-round boxes on the shelf.

    Did a lot of reading many years ago about this topic and I settled on that also for my wife’s shotgun on her side of the bed. Tube is loaded, nothing in the chamber and safety is off. All she has to do is rack it and go to work. I found a 20ga, low recoil, #4 buckshot, I believe it’s a Federal round.

    I did t mention it but like you the tube is full and chamber empty and safety off.

    I found some at a local Academy. The 5 round boxes were fairly expensive. I bought 6 or 7 boxes. You can find it online shipped to your door. I found some at SWFA. Their shipping is expensive for small orders but they have a brick and mortar south of Dallas.
