    Folks,

This coming Friday, Jan 5th, will be the 5th anniversary of our weekly Friday TGT gun lunch!!!!

If you've never come out, please come.
If you haven't been in a while, please come.
If you come every week, please come.

I have been sending out texts to those who I have phone numbers for. Let's make this our biggest gun lunch ever.

If you know of any old timers who haven't been in a while and they aren't on here much, send them a PM to encourage them to come.

We'll be at Rudy's BBQ on 183 at 11am. We'll probably be there til 12:30 so if you cannot get there right at 11, don't let that stop you.

I may just bring out some boxes of ammo to hand out to any newcomers and others randomly based on arrival time. I say that I may since I'm planning to, but it's always possible for me to leave the house without them despite my best intentions.

Post up if you will be joining us.

    I'm in for sure!

I have never been to one before but this one is close enough and I may be able to make it over. Looking forward to it.

I am new here, would love to join you this Friday for Lunch!
Unfortunatlely, I can't get to that Rudy's location from work(pest control)
Is the location always the same?
    do you have dinnertime GTG's?
eager to meet fellow Austin 1911 owners!

Location moves around quite a bit, but generally in north central Austin because that always brings the most attendance.

I don't think we've ever had a dinner. Feel free to start one if you'd like. I'm very unlikely to show up as I like to have dinner with the family and I'm pretty much all socialized out after work.

As Dan said, we usually stay near the 183/MoPac intersection and north(not always, of course). Certainly open to suggestions of fun, casual places to visit!
Some of the folks have set up their own dinner plans or range visits independent of the lunch "meetings", so that's an option.
Plenty of 1911 folks on the forum, although I don't qualify as one.
We are happy to write you a 'hall pass' so you can get away around lunchtime on Fridays...work, schmurk!!

By the bye, I hope to break away from Pickleball in time to make the 1100 start. Many of the places we visit actually open at 1100; but Rudy's is open early. Hang out near the entrance until we get a few folks and can stake our territory. We're usually close enough to the fire on the patio... to stay warm this week, I reckon :)

Good to see new faces and thanks for coming out!

Sorry you had to sit at the “kid’s” table with the reprobates, lol.

    Hope to see you again!

Coach may have worn the brightest sports gear I have ever seen. Those of you who didn’t make it missed out!

I'm going to have to get off my ample butt one of these days to join y'all.
Especially when the group meets at a BBQ or burger joint.

Coachrick might remember me as "ScoPro" on the Austin forum at the City-Data board.

It was nice to meet new people for a change. I hadn't been out like this for a while. Thanks again for the free ammo as well! I will try and make some of these and get to know some of you.

Dang neighbor! I sure hope you will come out to join us! We're headed to Sam's Boat @ Braker/MoPac this week(although it looks like it will be too cold/windy to sit on the deck). Their burgers are pretty good!

    Sam's Boat is sounding good.

I have to apologize. The pics I took will not be any good to us. My phone was stolen and the pics are gone with it.

OK, neighbor...Here's a week's notice for next Friday's lunch. Moonie's Burger House 183/Anderson Mill(the freestanding new Starbuck's is directly in front of the restaurant) is the location for the 19th. Meeting @1100 hours, staying until about 1230. Excellent burgers and fries and iced tea...Hope to see you there!!!
