Use to be that the spirit of overlanding was taking a cheap truck with a roof tent and to go wheeling and camping for a couple of days. Now with rigs like that they are little hotel rooms and cost well north of 100k and not very good for wheeling.

I had a 69 Chevy 4x4 CST with a Sierra cab over. My lovely and talented wife still talks about the fun we had going boonie crashing in the 70s. I miss being young and stupid.

Yep.

Used to be the point of a truck was to get you to where you could go backpacking.

Still appreciate horse camping most.
