    Thanks!

That confirms what I wrote. Shotguns are not NFA, Short barreled ones are (which I did not include). Definitions from code:

    (5) The term “shotgun” means a weapon designed or redesigned, made or remade, and intended to be fired from the shoulder and designed or redesigned and made or remade to use the energy of an explosive to fire through a smooth bore either a number of ball shot or a single projectile for each single pull of the trigger.

    (6) the term "short-barreled shotgun” means a shotgun having one or more barrels less than eighteen inches in length and any weapon made from a shotgun (whether by alteration, modification or otherwise) if such a weapon as modified has an overall length of less than twenty-six inches

But a short-barreled shotgun is a subcategory of shotgun. So it is still a shotgun, just a special subcategory of shotgun.

If you want to get picky, which apparently some do.

Short barreled shotgun is NFA. I did not use the term "Short Barreled".

But I cann clarify if you want to nitpick:

This just in - Shotguns [with BBL's < 18" or 26" OAL] are not NFA

You're splitting hairs were there aren't any. Shotguns are shotguns, whether shortbarreled or not. And shortbarrelled shotguns are an NFA item, being shotguns, with short barrels.

You are nitpicking by focusing on a special subset of the term "shotgun" that only applies to about .00001% of shotguns and ignoring the rest, which was obviously what I was referring to.

And being petty after I clarified what I was referring to.
