Has anyone ever owned or shot a VEPR in 308?

I might buy one and I am looking to see if anyone has any experience with them

    In the woods...
Recoil is 30/30 ish. When sighting in the scope (an inexpensive model with lighted reticle) it gave accuracy of about 1.5 - 2" @ 100 yes using milsurp fmj.

I need to give it another try with decent soft point ammo.

At one time I had a Vepr in every flavor including .308, only ended up keeping the 12 guage and 7.62X39 models.

Never shot brass through mine only steel and sighted in with iron sights, no optic.
Didn't do any real accuracy testing. It was reliable and had no problem ringing steel at the range.

There is a version 1 and 2 from what I remember and mine was the 2 with integrated sights and squareback.
Csspecs make good, although pricy mags if you decide to get it.

Did some shooting today from a bag rest. First is Tulammo 150gr .308. Second is South African 7.62x51mm. First time using this software (SubMOA on iphone). Giant pain in the ass so far. I just got my real bench rest in the mail yesterday but I didnt have any time to set it up this morning. I am going to repeat the same with the bench rest this upcoming week. Scope used is the Nikon Prostaff BDC 4-12x -40 on a RS Regulate side mount
