    I was sort of leaning more to the pin/weld method.
    The FH already has a pin hole drilled and I have heard that the solder method is rather messy and tougher to refinish.
    I could be wrong as I have no direct experience either way.

    I do mine myself. Drill a hole for the pin (I use a small set screw), dimple the barrel threads to give the pin (screw) something to grab, thread the pin hole for the set screw, torque the set screw down, MIG weld over the hole. Done.

    I have done one before and will be doing another one in the next few days. As long as you take your time and do it right its easy.
