I have 3 unopened bottles of Bullseye that I'd like to work up some plinking loads with 215 grain lead swc bullets. Anybody have anything on this combination?

I hate to say this but Bullseye is a very bad choice in large bore magnums like the 41 magnum. It's a super fast powder and needs a short case with small diameter light weight bullets. There are much better choices and the low powder volumes may cause detonation.

Bullseye will be fine for the 41 Mag as long as you don't try to get the performance out of it you would from a magnum powder. Start with 4.0 grains and work your way up.

I agree that Bullseye isn't the best powder for .41 Magnum. For all around loads and plinking I wouldn't use anything that didn't give 50%+ on casefill. Look at some Ramshot True Blue or even Unique for this application.

Bullseye may not be the absolute best choice but he has three pounds of it he wants to use up. For mid power loads it will perform fine and be very accurate.

I'm just looking for a mild plinking load. Not trying to get any great performance out of it. I have some loads that I used 8 grains of Unique and it worked fine but I'm just trying to see if I can utilize some of this Bullseye powder that I have sitting around.
