I love dogs and wanted to find a pal to keep eight year old Jake company. I got a 7 month old Toy Fox Terrier ("Mike") and hoped that they would get along. It was not to be.

Mike beat Hell out of Jake so badly that I had to take him to the Vet. We tried it for about two months and Mike just kept hurting Jake who got sullen and depressed.

Finally, I took Mike back but it took Jake a full month to come out of his shell and get back to his normal, lovable self. He is a ONE man dog and always will be. He won't share his Daddy with anyone!

I meant well, but I'll never do that to Jake again! It was a huge mistake.

Dang it, I would love to have that sweet dog. But I've got 3 rescues already and my wife might divorce me if I brought home another one.

No sure yet. Out of three possibles, not on is even close in color.
1 is gold like mom. And a little piglet.
3 are a grey/gold.
3 are a brown/gold sable.

I too have trouble with one critter not accepting another.

So now, at night, one sleeps on one side of the bed (up next to me) while the other sleeps on the other side (up next to me - a workable compromise...) and I'm rendered a human bookcase.

I get to love both of them simultaneously...gladdens my heart.

Update time;

Negative for heart worms , positive for intestinal worms( easy fix, treating now) has had parvo and rabies vaccine and has a more less clean bill of health ( intestinal worms aside)

Oh, and she will be going to a permanent home Friday or Saturday.

We had to give her a name for the lab work and the good folks( and friends) at Lake Austin Blvd Animal Hospital gave me the stink eye when I said “someone else’s stray dog” so we have been calling her Yakuza( Kuza for short) due to her missing toe on her left front paw.
