When I was AF Security we had Smith 38s and changed over to the Berettas about 1987 ish
So that was a 30 plus year run for Beretta

In the USAF 1961 to 1966 we were issued WW 2 vintage S&W 38's when on guard duty. They were pretty well worn out.
