For a place that can put you in jail for having a knife, this comes as no surprise.

    It’s much worse than that.
This is what happens when people give up their right to armed resistance to tyranny.

I come from the UK. When I lived there I applied for and was granted a shotgun license. It is marginally easier to get than a firearm licence. However, still need to be a member of a club, the police visit your house to interview you and check the safe is the approved type and is secure (bolted to the wall - the officer was literally trying to swing on the safe, to see if it would move). It took over a month to be issued.

After all that you are restricted to double barrel sporting guns or a semi automatic with a limited 2+ 1 capacity.

Far cry from "The Sun Never Sets on the British Empire" isn't it, mate?

Meanwhile here in the US, I am debating whether or not to drop $350 on another 1,000 rounds of 5.56 and 10 more 30 round PMags which can be shipped to my door without a background check. That last sentence horrifies gun grabbers and that warms my heart.

In “You Only Live Twice”, Fleming writes about the decline of the British Empire and it sounds a lot like what the US is currently going through.
