As many of us here are in the 65+ ‘’Grey Zone’’, and many of us spent much of our younger lives in the great outdoors; we are in the SKIN CANCER cohort.

A nice Nurse just reminded me of my appointment to have a ‘’basal cell’’ cancer removed tomorrow morning.

A good occasion to remind all that these are easily removed, if done early. BUT, if one tries to ignore them, they can become ‘’rodent ulcer’’ cancers, which eat directly into facial skeleton & cranium.

During my long Medical career, some of the most miserable & pitiable folks I can recall were those who put-off tending to little skin cancers until too late for simple treatments.

So, any non-healing skin lesion, especially of face, neck, ears, or hands; i. e., areas upon which the Sun once shone. . . . . and shone & shone. . . . . need prompt Medical evaluation and treatment.

This goes double for blondes & redheads.

Everyone over 55 should have a dermal exam at least annually, even if having ‘’no problems’’.

Please don’t ignore tiny sores, darkening moles, or strange little bumps.
