Gun: Remington 700 Sendero in 7mm Rem Mag
Scope: Burris XTRII 5-25 mil dot
Ammo: Handloads, 70.3gr Retumbo with 154gr Hornady SST
    Velocity: 2870 ft/s
    Zero: 100yds

According to calculators, I was expecting the drop at 300 yards to be 10-12" or about 1.1 mils. I finally got to shoot at 300 recently and found that to hit the bullseye I only needed 0.4mil of adjustment, which would be about 4.3" if I'm calculating that correctly. I can't find anything published that lists such a small amount of drop. I didn't re-verify my 100 yrd zero, but shooting at 100 and 200 yards is next on my list to verify point of impacts for each range.

I was just curious if anyone else has experienced much less bullet drop than what is expected.

Verify the 100 yd and I think you'll be closer to the calculations.

Never. I checked your drop calcs and they look about right to me. Other than a bad 100 yard zero like Vaq suggested, I can't think of anything off hand that would make that much difference, unless you're shooting up the side of a mountain or something.

I suspect my 100yrd zero must be high. I plan to re-check it when I can. Thanks for the input, just wanted to make sure I was thinking straight.
