.....and just exactly how are we supposed to protect ourselves against thugs like these in places like New York with only seven rounds in the magazine?
You we wake up in the middle of the night with someone knocking down your door. Having been a sleep and somewhat disoriented you are lucky if you make a 40-50% hit-rate and out of the actual hits maybe 10% are deadly the other 90% are going in non-vital body parts.
Seven rounds will start flying pretty fast.

I am saddened by three things here. First, the home owner was injured. Second, two got away and are now on the loose, considered to be armed / dangerous and facing some severe charges. Thirdly, the charges do not include murder, attempted murder or any other charge related to the injury to the home owner or the deaths of the other two.

There would be a far greater reduction in the crime rate if stories like these were paraded around for political purposes to the extent of Sandy Hook. After awhile it'll scare the thugs from trying to bust in to strangers' homes. Make these stories more public - that will control gun violence more than any misguided legislation.
