Talk about disposable income! I use to want to climb Kilimanjaro before the snow all disappeared from it. The money wasn't high, but seemed like it would be better spent hunting the climbing.
There was a story on the NBC evening news about how the traffic jam getting up Everest was causing serious problems by forcing people to stay out in those high-altitude conditions for hours longer than they should. I think they said 5 deaths in the past week could be fully or partially blamed on the traffic jam.
