    Friends,

Do any of you KNOW what year that FOMOCO started selling PREMIUM STEREO SYSTEMS with CD for the Crown Vic & Grand Marquis??

I've found & am about to buy a one-owner, low miles, 1992 Grand Marquis that has a DEAD stereo & want an OEM-style AM-FM stereo with CD to fit the dash & that LOOKS "factory".

92 - 96 had an option for a JBL premium system with remote mount amp and sub, cassette, but no CD option. 96-98 had no premium option. 99+ had an Alpine premium option. That’s probably the first year of CD availability, but it probably won’t fit The 92 dash and you’d need a custom harness built.

    EZ-E,

Fyi, I talked to Leah at Crutchfield & she has solved this problem before. - They sell a JVC stereo that looks quite "factory" & exactly fits the HOLE where the radio was when it worked.
Also the JVC stereo will plug into the FOMOCO wiring with an "included adaptor", Leah said. = EASY INSTALL.

THANKS for your input. = PROBLEM SOLVED!!

I've purchased quite a bit of stuff from them in the last 30 or so years. I've never had a problem & their customer service is top notch.

Crutchfield is top notch. I am using them for my stereo in my 1985 El camino.
If the CD option was like my Lincoln I had. The CD Player went in the trunk
Trunk??? It has a truck bed....lol.
I guess you mean the cubby spot behind the seat. A buddy in high school had a 80' model with a couple 12" subs in the Elco trunk.
My dad had a Ranchero & an Elco when I was a kid. I was about 4 & the Ranchero caught on fire one night at our townhouse, then pops got the Elco.
