Given the propensity for suing in today’s litigious society, if Whataburger publicly claims their hamburger patty’s are 100% beef, I believe it.
I agree, and legally I'm sure it is 100% what is legally 100% beef in America. Cow nostrils hooves and eyeballs are also beef. When Checkers first opened they claimed only that their meat was 100% USDA Inspected. Good to know even if meaningless as you can't serve un-inspected meat. I still stop into Checkers now and then.

I like real butter, just about anything if it’s fried, and steaks cooked rare.

Wendy’s baconator is probably full of all kinds of nasty stuff, but I like the way it all mixes together and eat that crap too.

I like squirrel. And rabbit. Fried. Or in dumplings.

My wife has literally puked at some of the parts my family eats off of a cow. Im cool with it, her idea of fish is a Morton fish stick.

Spend a long day cuttin bull calves, I’m be damned if I’m gonna pass on a plate of fresh calf fry’s.

Using that analogy, my leather sofa is beef.

Bill, I have numerous aunts, uncles, and grandparents that lived to their 90’s. One made it to 99. They ALL ate fried eggs, sausages, bacon, pork chops, chicken....you name it, they fried it. Some of them even smoked including an aunt that smoked and would chew on a twig dipped in powdered snuff. I think the difference between their lifestyle and mine is fast food.
I'm curious... How much of their food did they raise on their own or buy from small farmers vs. pre-packaged stuff from the store?

I was a huge meat eater. These days, I consume animal protein maybe a couple times a week, with the goal of living on a 99% whole food plant based diet soon. I’m also allergic to most gluten (celiac disease), especially wheat, so I must avoid most processed foods (even most vegan foods).

If you have issues or a family history with heart disease, cancers, autoimmune issues, and you want to control your health destiny, you might consider getting educated on the benefits of eating more plants and less processed foods and animal based food.

I used to make fun of all this vegan stuff too. But then I had a wake up call during an annual health check. I was advised I’d need to consider meds for high blood pressure and high cholesterol. That was also right around the time I turned 50 years old, and have since had gall bladder removal, several severe pancreas attacks, chronic acid reflux, severe joint pain. And while I still have pain due to arthritis, it’s much less these days. And my acid reflux is history, as are the pancreas attacks. All without any meds.
What works for you might not work for others. Lots of plant products cause inflammation in many people, which contribute to all the disease mentioned.

What worked for me was a diet high in animal fats and protein. Overall cholesterol is 1/3 what it was a few years ago, and triglycerides half. Blood pressure is lower, too. I usually eat 4 eggs a day, so eggs being universally bad for cholesterol is also nonsense.

I used to date a chick who had meat allergies. Obviously my current diet would be very bad for her.
Everyone is different. There's some genetic based nutritional advice that you can get, but it's a pretty new field. Experimentation is really the only way to find what works best for you. The thing that pretty much everyone can agree on is to just eat real food. Stay away from the highly processed stuff.

When you eat a lot of meat and fats and little fiber...
Fiber is considered carb neutral in low carb diets. No reason for people trying to be low carb to not eat fiber. I select the vegetables I eat specifically because they are high fiber.

Eat dark leafy greens daily along with oats every day. But we eat lots of brown rice, beans, lentils, potatoes, and all fruits and vegetables. Lots of herbs, spices, seasonings. Think Asian, middle eastern, and Caribbean types of flavors.

If heart disease is a concern, avoid much/any added oils and sugars. Only sweeteners I use now are mainly real maple syrup and honey.

    This book is the BEST:

I stopped eating fast food & take out 15 years ago.
What a difference it made in a short time.

If I get hungry when I'm on the road I'll stop at a grocery store & get some fresh fruit to hold me over till I get home.
My dinner consist of a meat & steamed veggies.
I eat all types of veggies & fruits.

I like milk & I really love cheese.
No health issues yet & I"ll be 60 in a couple months.

I also drink enough coffee to sink a battle ship (with cream & sugar).
Been trying to cut back on that but not much luck.
I also smoked cigs for 30 years til I quit awhile back.
I feel slightly better (after the withdrawl symptoms passed in 3 days) but, I'm not running marathons at my age either.

The thing everyone has to contend with now days are the chemicals in all the different foods whether natural or man made.

I eat 6 eggs every morning, but only 1 yolk.

In the Atkins diet, fiber grams are subtracted from carb grams, to give overall carbs.
