Sent an email with a link to both the Star Telegram and my state rep. We'll see who has to say what about this.

    Here
    To All,

ImVho, Bonnen must GO, whether by resignation, being "primaried" or LOSING in the next general election.

    WEASEL describes him.

    yours, satx

    You are absolutely correct.

I believe that the way to do it is in the primaries, because in the general election the only other choice will be a democrap. It will take a lot of work but we can do it.

If we can show who ever takes his place as Speaker that bonehead was voted out by pro-gun folks he/she will be hesitant to cross us.

As I stated in another post I have made it my mission to make everyone in the Capitol aware that bonehead is a lying POS. And I need more help in doing that. It would be nice if everyone that reads this would send an email to their Representative letting him/her know that they are very unhappy with bonehead as Speaker and include a link to the DPS video.

When the primaries come around I will be doing everything that I can to defeat bonehead. In the mean time we need let everyone know what kind of person that he is and hopefully embarrass the hell out of him.

    F350-6,

And you are SHOCKED by their silence???

    yours, satx

Kind of. The politician types usually reply within 24 hours, usually by a staffer, with the standard generic this is the closest stock reply we have to what you said, blah, blah, blah.

And the past times I've emailed either the Star Telegram, or the local small county paper, they too have responded, usually within 24 hours.

    F-350-6,

Imo, it's far from unusual for politicians to ignore letters from citizens that would require then to do something positive to fix errors or misdeeds by more influential politicians. = It's called being: GUTLESSS.

    SATX,

Just curious, do you write them often? I wouldn't say I write often, but I have on several occasions. My experience has always been a canned response from an aid that just kind of touches on the subject I mentioned. Many of them make it easier to do this if you go to the website and hit the contact button for them since it gives you a list of options to choose from for your topic headline. It should be called, pick which reply you want to get.

I've emailed on a couple of hotter button issues in the past. The responses have always been to start off with the generic I understand your concern, talk in a circle, then change the subject to rah rah me stuff.

I'm also a bit stunned I didn't get any response at all from the paper editor. Even if it was a nonsense one. Unfortunately, I still enjoy reading the paper the old fashioned way. That and I saved $17 at Walmart today with the coupons I clipped from today's paper, so it's not like I'll be canceling it anytime soon.

Earlier this week Chris McNutt called on folks to block walk Bonnen's district.

    https://txgunrights.org/latest-news...-we-need-your-help-talking-to-your-neighbors/
TXGR is calling on law-abiding, pro-gun Texans to peacefully pass out flyers in Speaker Boonen’s district, requesting his constituents respectfully contact him -- their elected official -- and urge him to advance Constitutional Carry, House Bill 357!

Thin skinned Bonnen went and put out a facebook book post today about "fringe gun activists."

    https://www.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=10155799433666534&id=273023971533&__tn__=-R
Friends and neighbors of District 25,

Many of you have personally called me to express your concerns about the fringe gun activists who have been knocking on doors in our neighborhood over the weekend. Kim, the boys and I are doing just fine, and we appreciate your checking in. These individuals -- many of which do not even live in our district -- are making a last ditch effort to manufacture support for legislation that would allow anyone -- including criminals -- to carry a gun without a license and proper safety training. While they are well within their rights to drop flyers and knock on doors, I realize that it can be bothersome, and I apologize for the concerns it has created.

The organizations that are dispatching their members to our doorsteps have a lengthy track record of using fear and intimidation to push their agenda in our Capitol, and since that hasn't worked, they're attempting to turn up the pressure by targeting my friends and neighbors. When I was selected by my colleagues to become Speaker, not once did I envision this level of targeted harassment -- including repeated death threats -- would happen as a result. These sort of tactics are not healthy for our democracy -- they only discourage good people from getting involved in their government.

The activists knocking on our doors are associated with a number of fringe organizations, including one that believes "a person with a felony record, even a violent one, can merely seek to defend himself, and he has the natural right to do so while bearing the tools necessary…All gun control laws, including background checks and 'prohibited persons' are, in fact, infringements on our right to bear arms."

As evidenced by my A-rating with the NRA, I have always fought to strengthen the 2nd Amendment rights of Texans. I -- like the majority of Texans -- draw the line at legislation that threatens the safety of our communities and makes it near impossible for law enforcement to distinguish between law abiding gun owners and criminals. Even the author of this bill withdrew his request to move it forward, and not one Senator was willing to file it in the upper chamber. It is clearer than ever this is bad policy.

These organizations are slowly chipping away at our strong 2nd Amendment protections and won't stop until Texans "with a felony record -- even a violent one" have the ability to carry a firearm.

While these people double down to set back the entire 2nd Amendment movement for the future, I will continue to fight for legislation that PROTECTS our community and STRENGTHENS the 2nd Amendment rights of Texans in a productive and positive way.
I hope you all have a great rest of your weekend.

Here is a picture someone posted on a Facebook page of the "fringe activists." Bonnen is absolute garbage.

Some of the comments on Bonnen's post are pretty good, trying to read them before they are deleted.
Have any arrests been made in the death threats you claim? Death threats against elected officials are serious and should be fully investigated and prosecuted. In today's electronic age there should be audio or text records of the threats. I expect anyone making a credible threat would be arrested quickly, yet I find no public record of any such arrests.

Can you not read English well? How does this bill allow criminals to legally carry, or do anything else for that matter.

If I give you the benefit of the doubt and asusme you're not stupid, then you must be blatantly lying and are assuming your constituents are stupid, so they'll buy this idiocy you're selling.

    Incredible.

I didn't know you were a democrat Dennis.

Here is my question for ANYONE who "claims" to support the 2A then adds a but. Can you PLEASE show me where it says the right to keep and bear arms UNLESS... Honestly if you cant find that clause then any law is unconstitutional.
Next can any of you POSSIBLY tell me how "common sense gun laws" really keep guns out of criminals hands?? Everyone keeps screaming we need more laws...yet they fail to show how the ones we have work now.
Bottom line is this. All your laws do is punish the "law abiding citizens" you constantly chip away and make the public as a whole softer targets every time. Meanwhile the real threat is blindly following the masses and knee jerk emotional reactions to every little crime.

Scapegoating pure and simple mister Bonnen. I live in district 25 and have had people go door to door for many issues in my neighborhood. Funny how now it's a problem because you don't want to pass a bill. Have fun being voted out next election.
