I just bought a 1903 ser. # 1,2XXXX L.C. Smith "0" frame sxs shotgun. It is chambered for the old 2 1/2" shells. I have modified my PW Sizing die to resize the 2 1/2" plastic hulls. I also have a shiving cutter to modify the case mouths so they will crimp properly.
I am looking for any ideas on LOW pressure (7,000 to 8,00 LUP)1150-1200 fps velocity, 1oz. lead shot loading data. I worked up 2 3/4" loads in this range 30 yrs ago. Problem is the shorter hulls present a problem. I never shoot factory ammo in any of my Elsie's, Ithaca's, or Parkers. They, like me, are old, and do not need the aggravation.
Any ideas would be welcome.
