Jeepless now, but been wheeling since '67, owned an offroad welding and fab shop , 12 trips to Moab, wheeling across the world. I will get another one soon as I catch up with chores around here, never been long without one.

    Any Jeep owners here.

Avid Jeeper here and a Jeeper for life.

    45 Willys MB
    67 Commando
    85 CJ7 (still have)
08 JKU (Totalled in 11 by stupid lady that ran a red light)
11 JKU ( replacement for the 08 and my DD)

Have been wheeling em for years and go out now with Military Jeepers, LSJC, DFW Chapter TX4WD, and JK Freaks.

    Sound off fellow Jeepers.
Maybe you should have put a stronger bumper on it:

    TJ Rubicon can survive!

“I was running down the road trying to loosen my load”...

It was 3:15 and I am west bound on Frank Lloyd Wright Blvd a dual lane with center traffic divider, 45 mph speed limit, approaching the 100th street intersection with traffic lights and turn signal. I am enroute COSTCO for some shopping. I approach the intersection with green light and at about 50 yards or so a big black ’94 Caddy 4 door sedan is making a u turn and got confused or making a left turn and got lost, because its sitting across both lanes at a dead stop.

I move from the right to the left lane in hopes that the Caddy will move, it doesn’t, and I am considering jumping to the other side of the road if there are no oncoming cars. The bad news is there is an oncoming car so that lets out that option.

I stand on the brakes and my 37 MTRs lock up faster than Michael Jackson having a Boy Scout Troop sleep over and the Sheriff is knocking at the front door, and the Caddy still has not moved.

I am sliding thru the intersection faster than Barry Bonds into home plate when hear a crunch and see an explosion of glass. My airbag did not go off.
I hit that Caddy on the outer edge of the rear tire and on into the rear quarter panel. The big Caddy’s rear window explodes like a bomb on a Baghdad street. The Caddy slides sideways from the impact of my Jeep and I keep driving pulling over about 15 yards down the street in the bus stop lane.
I run back to see who and what is in that Caddy and if anyone is hurt. The Caddy has only one occupant, a woman that most likely started her driving career for the 3 wise men. It goes downhill from there, she is near blind in one eye, an ain’t got the other one and its not her lucky day. [NOT kidding about her only having one eye, I guess at 92 you are lucky to be alive]

I ask if she is all right and she asks, "where am I? By now the ambulance and Scottsdale finest is arriving on the scene and I turn it over to them while I check out the big Caddy. From the Caddy’s perspective, it was bad day at black rock or another demolition derby lost. The rear is caved in, the trunk is crushed, door window broke and back window blown out. The rear axle is not sitting straight and has been moved over to the drivers side a good foot, in short the car is un-drivable.

The police asked me if I was driving the other car and where was it? I point to my Jeep and we all head towards it. We walk around front to survey the damage and to their amazement and my surprise, there is none!

    I head on to COSTCO.

Update: Her insurance company totaled the Caddy, the police took away her drivers license and I did not file a claim…no real damage, no claim, the woman had enough problems as it was.

There's a group on FaceBook called Jeep Nation. Check us out, folks from all over and a tight knit group. We have monthly wheeling events including Beginner wheeling 101 sessions for those new to Jeep life. When you search for the group on FaceBook, our logo is the skull and crossbones(jolly roger). Here's my 2012 JKU that the club members have dubbed "Farva"

    Helotes!
I love Scramblers as well, but seven grand for that?!?

I swear I might have seen that CJ8 for sale before, I was cutting through some backroads in the Hill Country a few years back near Blanco and saw it for sale. It was back behind someone's fence so I didn't dare jump over it to get a closer look, but I do think it was the same rig.

    Cheers! M2

I think 7k is a fair price. I'd ask 10k if I was selling it. But if I had one I would never sell it lol. That one is running. If I ever get one I'm going to build it out of an aftermarket aluminum tub with a 350. Keep it street. 33s Max. I'll probably daily drive it. But I doubt I'll ever have that much expendable income .

yeah, I agree. I just don't know much about jeeps and what is a good/fair price. That's where I am gonna have to rely on y'all. I don't mind dropping a little $$$ but I don't want a money pit either. If he's asking 7, maybe he will take 4 or 5?

Dude if you buy that for 4 or 5 and dump a little coin in it you'll have the most awesome Heep in San Antonio lol.
what do you consider "a little coin"? Like I said, I know VERY little about jeeps. I would want the motor to be strong, ya know, not get passed by a VW BUS:p. Nothing outrageous just solid. As far as a lift, I just want it to sit up nice and look mean, nothing I need a rope ladder for. It would be a "kicking around buggy" so as far as paint, well i'm good with rattle cans & Dupli color truck bed coating. Of course the 4x4 should be solid. AHHHHHH SHIT!......this is not good.....:rolleyes:

Honestly they are money pits. For the money it'd take to get the scrambler up to par you can buy a good tj that's ready to hit the trail.

Been driving Jeeps since '67 and love them all. $7k is a bit on the pricey side for that rig based upon the pic. Its not an above average rig and in fact I would call it below avg, its ROUGH.

Selling price on a late model scrambler in excellent condit would be $10-$15k depending upon mileage, options and degree of originality. Sure you can got well into the $40k range with LOW mile near mint rigs optioned out and paper trail showing it is original and was ordered with the options.
