I will have to weld/fill the slot in the slide before I can dovetail it. I want to get it welded and the dovetail cut before the engraving. My son has our MIG, so I'm waiting for him to be off ..........still working on the artwork......

    in the meantime............

I never shot the 1919A4 in semi auto mode. Being we had a registered bolt cut to work in it, there was no need. Now that I am machinegun-less, I had to fit the semi auto parts and headspace it. Ready to take it the range......not quite as fun as full auto, but still fun...........

Ordered some more end mills from MSC, but will be a week to get here.......

    In the mean time.........

I've been waiting on this solder from Brownells and try soldering the barrel on my FEG MBK-9HP. An almost Browning clone, some parts like the barrel won't interchange. FEG later models do.......

So anyway, their barrel is a two piece design (impossible to find) and was brazed together....a not too uncommon occurrence on the the older well used pistols is that it separates.......Did I say this was one of our rental guns for years? And a good one at that....

The solder is a combination solder/flux and low temp (flows @ 425 F) so the barrel shouldn't go kaboom At least that's what I am hoping....will take it to the range the next time I go and test it.....Maybe it will hold......it is a good shooting pistol....

When I bought it, it was painted a tan and the grips were painted. I bead blasted the grips stripped the paint and parkerized it several years ago.......
