Do used quality scopes have any value? A friend passed away a while ago and had 4x20 variable scopes removed from his rifles. I have asked Cabelas gun library employee and he places no value on used scopes. He will offer the same price for any gun with or without its scope.

Hell yes they have value. I've paid more for used scopes than used guns on several occasions.

So long as the optic isn’t unusable, they have value.

Apparently, Nikons with some sort of sticker in them are worth a hell of a lot. Ben would know since he posted it in the shit I didn’t know thread.

I’ll see if I can find the post.

Never mind on the whole sticker thing. That’s what I get for accessing my memories of things that occurred a long time ago.

Well, he's been here since 2008.
I think the grandfather clause will let him post for sale.

    In the woods...
An acquaintance of mine owned a firearms store in San Antonio back in the 80's. He told the story of a customer who dropped his rifle down a rocky slope and broke the glass in a Leupold scope. Bent it all to hell.

They sent it to Leupold asking for an estimate and plausibility of repair (remember this is before Al Gore invented the internet). In a few weeks the customer received a new model of the scope with a note from Leupold apologizing for the failure of the original. No charge!
That's good marketing as I am sure that type of press generated much more revenue than the cost of replacing the scope.

Leupold is such a quality company, I have one of their cheapest model hog 1-4x20mm. It's so lightweight and clear compared to any out there.
