You'll see this sign at any place that sells alcohol to go. It's not a .06 sign. If you're paying attention you'll see on the doors at Walmart and HEB.

This sign carries 51% wording. I've seen where the red 51% overlay has faded out to nearly invisible in another place that had the sign in a sun facing window.

I think you posted the wrong signs. That sign is where on premise consumption occurs and the sale of alcohol there is 51% or greater. I think you meant to post THIS sign for HEB, Wal-Mart, etc.

A recent change in Texas law provides that if 30.06 or 30.07 signs are posted and the LTC is required to be verbally informed of the prohibition, then the LTC is required to leave the premises (the physical structure or building) immediately (to disarm or to simply leave). This was caused by businesses who overload their building and windows with junk signs. The requirements of 30.06 and 30.07 must still be met by the LTC, you just get more notice. If you are carrying concealed, no one knows anyway. TABC requirements are more archaic but basically, if they serve alcoholic beverages at a bar, apply the 51% rule and don't go in the bar area. Texas law allows LTCs to carry in restaurant areas of establishments that serve alcoholic beverages, if they have separate dining areas and bar areas. Signs that do not carry the precise wording of Sections 30.06, 30.07 or TABC's 51% sign are meaningless and not valid.

Umm, that is difficult to understand. What new law affects 30.06 and 30.07?

And 51% signs are not meaningless if the language isn't correct.

Target (and some Walmarts) are bad about splitting the regulation 30.06/30.07 signs or even partially covering them so they are unintelligible. You are unable to determine if they are 30.06 or 30.07. The managers will apologize but never rectify the situation. I will ask about their policy but if they will not correct the situation, I inform them that I (and the rest of my family) choose to shop somewhere safer.
