I've already seen articles on this bill, but doesn't it still need to be signed by the governor to become law?

ETA: articles that seem to have stated brass knuckles are legal to carry as of right now

He already signed it. Here is the text of the law. The items that have been struck take effect on 9/1/19, otherwise they are in effect today.

if he does not sign them then after xxxx amount of days they are put into effect the only way a bill on his desk does not make it to law <at least that I know of> is if he veto's it.

I find random funny shit...well...funny. In real life my wife tends to slap or playfully punch me in the arm when I can't seem to control my impulses in public...my avatar pic was actually taken at my wife's school, on a dare by some of her 4th graders.

Part of the reason I've started posting here, after lurking for almost 6 YEARS is that some of the...dunno how to call it, random?sarcastic? plain 'ol crazy comments on here feel kinda like my friends and me sitting around the deer lease or in one of our garages while quaffing beers and telling lies...while working on pickups, guns, or someone's latest honey do project. The real information gets to the surface, eventually, just sometimes it's floating amongst some other stuff...

I thought the Spring and such baton joke was great. And I don't know what a Spring Baton is. So many of these devices are named locally and sometimes the name does not catch on everywhere.
So somebody straighten up and explain Spring Baton or whatever it was, before the seasons change. And be boring about it too.

    I'll assume you're serious.

Batons are striking weapons that can come in many types. A simple stick or club can be considered a baton. You've probably also seen, mostly in decades past, police with side-handle batons that have a handle sticking out at 90 degrees from the main length of the baton. If you haven't see one, I suggest you view a few old episodes of T.J. Hooker.

Batons, however, are a bit bulky. For a more concealable and/or convenient baton, it's possible to make one that collapses on itself. Most of the ones I've handled have consisted of solid tapered sections that lock together via friction when they are pulled out to full length. In the past, I've often heard them called an "ASP" but that's just a brand. Other names for these are collapsible baton, telescopic baton, telescoping baton, and tactical baton. As slang, they are sometimes called an extendable or extendo. They (always, I think) will have a bit of a knob on the tip.

A further subset of collapsible batons have a spring in them and, not surprisingly, are referred to as a spring cosh or spring baton.

The spring may, in some designs, merely be used to help the baton extend. For example, in this spring baton the spring just extends the otherwise solid baton. I've seen these called an automatic baton.

Other spring batons don't use a spring to help them open but sections of the baton are made of a stout spring. The handle will be solid (in every one I've ever seen) but then a section or two or the entire rest of the baton may be a spring. There'll be a knob on the end. They look like this:

It is my impression that when people refer to a spring baton, they usually mean the type shown in the second video but that's just my impression.

Now, after I took such care to choose videos by such obviously professional users, I hope you appreciate that I've taken your serious question seriously.

    Oy vey...

Those are called tonfas, they're an Okinawan martial arts weapon. Very effective with a moderate amount of training, and very versatile...although yeah, they're definitely not concealable.

That’s good advice. I’ve thought the same. Seriously.

I think I’m gonna order one, does anyone know a site that have reviews or any good info on which one to get?
You can use a cell phone as one. I have an old smart phone with a dash cam app on it.

The Monodnok PR24 was based on a Tonfa, but has many differences. I am certified on the PR24 STS. They actually made a collapsible version, but it wasn't very popular.

Mel Gibson used one at the end of Lethal Weapon in his big fight scene with Gary Busey.
